Though 2019 is winding down, AIMS activity remains high.
We’ve recently concluded elections for our board of directors and named the leadership for various AIMS working groups. The results are in, and we’ll be in good hands once again with the re-election of experienced board members Christer Bohm of Net Insight, Michael Cronk of Grass Valley, Andreas Hilmer of Lawo, Steve Reynolds of Imagine Communications, Andy Warman of Harmonic.
As you are probably aware, AIMS returned to the AES Pro Audio Convention at the Javits Center in New York, Oct. 16 – 18, with an expanded focus that included video IP networking – including the standards and specifications found in the technology roadmap of the Joint Task Force on Networked Media (JT-NM). The Audio Engineering Society (AES) and AIMS again collaborated on a professional media networking pavilion and the Audio/Video-Over0IP Technology Pavillion Theater, with a continuous program of 30-minute presentations covering a wide range of topics on audio and video over IP.
If you attended Inter BEE 2019 in Tokyo last month, you had the chance to see AIMS in action as a co-sponsor of the Inter BEE IP Pavillion in Hall 3. The event was host to a variety of presentations, relay seminars and a demo of connected IP equipment using SMPTE ST 2022-6 and SMPTE ST 2110.
In the meantime, be sure to take advantage of our Twitter and LinkedIn feeds. You’ll get the latest news about the work AIMS members are doing, and you’ll get the opportunity to exchange ideas and information with peers from across the industry!
