That’s a wrap for ISE 2023! Another successful show has come and gone, and for AIMS, this was one to remember. Visitors of the show had the chance to see live demonstrations of IPMX-based hardware and software working seamlessly together in addition to learning more about the increasing adoption of Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX) in the Pro AV market. Some of these demonstrations included HDCP running on IPMX, IPMX bridging to HDBaseT, and the capabilities and benefits of AMWA NMOS IS-04 and IS-05.
Before the show, AIMS marketing working group chair Andrew Starks was a guest on the All Things TechIE Podcast with Justin Dawson, and on day one of the show in Barcelona, he sat down with Rich Fregosa of AV Nation to discuss the show and IPMX. These interviews can be viewed here and here.
Other highlights of the show included several meetings for new and prospective AIMS members, in addition to media interviews with press outlets around the globe, from the United States to Singapore. Finally, AIMS introduced its two newest members during ISE 2023: NETGEAR and Megapixel VR, as covered by AVNetwork, Installation International, TV Tech, ISE Daily, and many more!
Moving forward to our next show, the IP Showcase will be returning to the 2023 NAB Show this April! This is a must-see event for anyone deploying media-over-IP technology for real-time broadcasting or Pro AV applications. Taking place in the West Hall, booth W2867, a central element of the IP Showcase will be the presentation of technical papers covering a wide range of topics – from overviews of SMPTE ST 2110, AES67, AMWA-NMOS, and TR-1001PMX to case studies on IP deployments of all sizes. The call for presentations is open until March first and papers can be submitted here.
In other news, AV Technology asked AIMS marketing working group chair Andrew Starks for his perspective on the state of networked AV as part of its AVT Thought Leaders Series – On AVoX. Starks also made an appearance on page 22 of AV Technology’s recent Technology Manager’s Guide, where he shares his expectations for the organization’s IPMX set of open standards and specifications for AV-over-IP deployments in the upcoming year. Find out what he had to say in both articles here and here.
