A must-see event for anyone deploying media-over-IP technology for real-time broadcasting or Pro AV applications, the IP Showcase will be making its return to the 2023 NAB Show next month. Taking place in the new West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, booth W2867, the event will highlight the great strides that have been made in achieving an all-IP ecosystem for today’s real-world media productions.
As always, a central element of the event will be the presentation of technical papers covering a wide range of topics in the IP Showcase Theater. This year, attendees can expect to hear about recent and upcoming developments with SMPTE, AES, EBU, VSF, and AMWA, in addition to AIMS’ IPMX set of open standards and specifications and its use in live productions. Presenters will also share case studies from real-world installations and provide basic tutorials tailored to newcomers to the field of IP video production. AIMS marketing working group chair Andrew Starks recently wrote a preview of what to expect at IP Showcase this year titled “Let the IP Conversation Begin” for the March issue of TV Tech.
In other news, AV Technology has published “Dirty Hands and IPMX” by Starks. In the new article, he discusses two important IPMX milestones that took place this month at VSF-sponsored events. In addition, TV Tech recently published John Mailhot’s article “Evolution of SMPTE 2110 Standard Addresses XS, IPMX,” in which he explores the trends for SMPTE 2110 in 2023, including the increasing use of the standard in AV-over-IP deployments via IPMX.
