AIMS, its partners, and its membership have been busy this last month, and more is in the works.
Of course, the most notable April event for AIMS was the IP Showcase at the 2023 NAB Show. The IP Showcase has proven to be a vital source of information and insight for media organizations moving to IP. In its return to this year’s Centennial NAB Show, IP Showcase focused on the business and creative potential of IP media solutions. The popular event concentrated on market requirements as media operations move toward all-IP connectivity and content delivery to multiscreen platforms, as well as the evolving SMPTE ST 2110 standards and the AMWA NMOS technology stack and how they are improving media workflows for large and small deployments alike.
IP Showcase is unique in that unlike trying to sell you products or solutions, collaborator-partners – AES, AIMS, AMWA, EBU, SMPTE, and VSF – are dedicated to educating, exploring, and engaging with attendees, as well as providing demonstrations and resources designed to ease deployment for end users.
Technical presentations at the IP Showcase Theater were an important part of this year’s show covering topics related to media-over-IP, timing in IP production, interoperability, compression in IP production, test and measurement, RIST, PTP, IPMX, and much more. In addition to the presentations on the Main Stage, the IP Showcase also featured new Meet Up sessions in which attendees were invited to participate in discussion sessions with industry experts, and address current topics and issues related to the industry’s transition to IP. Couldn’t make it to this year’s IP Showcase? Videos of each presentation will be available soon at ipshowcase.org! Looking ahead to the next big show, AIMS is hard at work preparing for its return to InfoComm 2023. The alliance will be exhibiting in Booth 4181, June 14-16 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. AIMS will bring the latest news and innovations regarding the IPMX standard. Registration is now open, so, be sure to mark your calendar and keep an eye out for further details on the IPMX.io and AIMS websites. It’s an event you won’t want to miss!
