Hosted by AIMS, VSF, AMWA and EBU, Event to Validate the First Wave of IPMX-Compliant Products in January 2026.
BOTHELL, Wash. — Feb. 4, 2025 — The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) will offer ISE 2025 attendees an intimate look into the global broadcast and Pro AV market’s increasing adoption of Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX™) — a set of open standards-based protocols designed to ensure interoperability for AV-over-IP systems — in several AIMS member kiosks in booth 5F600. Partners include Cobalt Digital, Macnica, intoPIX, Meinberg, Nextera, and PlexusAV. The kiosks are a first for AIMS at the show, with the member companies hosting demonstrations of IPMX-based systems. This will include a wide range of scenarios, including the interoperability of the IPMX standard with ST-2110, AES67, JPEG XS, Dante, and more.
Highlights from each kiosk will include:
- Cobalt Digital will be demonstrating its renowned openGear-based processing cards with an end-to-end, low-latency, fully compliant IPMX solution with HDMI devices using JPEG-XS compression to provide close to lossless quality with reasonable bit rates.
- intoPIX will presents its new 100% low-latency software apps for IPMX and ST 2110. The software streams from presentation PCs to IPMX networks for displays and live production and receives streams for viewing or use in applications.
- Macnica will demonstrate how they are driving the adoption of IPMX and SMPTE ST 2110 with innovative solutions like their versatile SDK designed to support seamless media transport and control.
- Meinberg will have an 18RU rack for a live demonstration of validated ST-2110 devices with their PTP Grandmasters. The demonstration will show the behavior of ST-2110 devices and the displayed content when PTP is enabled and disabled.
- Nextera Video and Adeas will showcase their industry-leading IPMX/ST 2110/ST 2059 FPGA IP cores and NMOS control software. The Nextera-Adeas cores support any resolution/frame rate/network speed and are fully modular by design.
- PlexusAV will demonstrate its human-centered ecosystem of versatile, interoperable products designed to eliminate the complexities of AV integration, built on the IPMX standard.
“The true test of the IPMX specifications and standards is how the products function in the field as interoperable AV-over-IP solutions,” said Andrew Starks, board of directors member and marketing working group chair for AIMS. “The partner kiosks offer ISE attendees in-person demonstrations of the rapid advancement of the standard, and its ease of implementation across multiple technologies and verticals. Thanks to the collaboration of these member companies, ISE 2025 will be a feast of information and practical application of the open-standard for AV-over-IP.”
Created by AIMS in collaboration with VSF and AMWA, IPMX implements a standards-based approach based on SMPTE ST 2110, with features and capabilities that target the specific needs of the broadcast and Pro AV industries. In addition to simplifying the implementation of SMPTE ST 2110 and ensuring interoperability for AV-over-IP systems, IPMX incorporates core features tailored to Pro AV installations. These features include asynchronous audio and video support — suitable for both live production and Pro AV presentations — 4K60 transmission over a single gigabit network, and HDCP for content security. IPMX also includes a control layer provided by AMWA’s NMOS specifications, which enhances device interoperability and eases the dependency on a myriad of proprietary control system protocols.

Event to Inform Attendees on Wide Range of IP-Related Topics While Providing an Opportunity to Share Ideas in a New Meetup Section
The Audio Engineering Society (AES), Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA), European Broadcasting Union (EBU), SMPTE®, and the Video Services Forum (VSF) today announced that the IP Showcase will return to the 2023 NAB Show, April 15-19 in Las Vegas. Taking place in the new West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, booth W2867, the IP Showcase will highlight the great strides that have been taken to achieve an all-IP ecosystem for today’s real-world media productions, educate attendees on a wide range of IP-related topics, and provide opportunities for knowledge sharing in a new meetup section.
As in previous years, a central educational element of the IP Showcase at the 2023 NAB Show will be the IP Showcase Theater, where industry professionals will be giving 20-minute presentations on a wide range of topics — from overviews of SMPTE ST 2110, AES67, AMWA-NMOS, and IPMX to case studies on IP deployments and basic tutorials for newcomers to the field of IP video production. Featured sessions will include:
- Compression
- Distributed IP Production
- Compliance Testing With the JT-NM
- Advanced Audio Applications
- SMPTE ST 2110 Launch Pad
- IPMX
- Media-over-IP Network Design
In addition, the “IP in Action” wall will be back at the 2023 NAB Show, where attendees can view additional information on different IP installations that have taken place. AIMS members will also be available to answer questions about today’s hot topics, such as ground-to-cloud, cloud-to-ground, AIMS’ IPMX set of open standards and specifications for AV-over-IP deployments, and the work that has taken place on standards over the past year.
New to the IP Showcase this year will be the meetup section, an open space with flexible seating where any attendee can host a conversation exploring any topic related to AV-over-IP, SMPTE ST 2110, or other proprietary protocols. Industry experts will be available to address meetups on their topic of choice. Furthermore, groups that already meet within standards organizations over Zoom and other platforms can utilize the meetup section for face-to-face meetings at the show.
“Education is the cornerstone of the IP Showcase and AIMS members have pulled out all the stops this year to provide more than 37 sessions. Unlike other NAB presentations that are company-sponsored or thought leadership opportunities, presentations in the IP Showcase Theater are delivered by hands-on engineers that can instruct attendees on exactly how to move to an IP infrastructure,” said Andrew Starks, an AIMS board of directors member and director of product management for Macnica. “However, we’ve also learned over the past eight years that attendees are eager to share ideas at the event, so for the 100th anniversary of NAB, we wanted to provide them with the opportunity to have these conversations in the new meetup section. It’s going to be an IP Showcase to remember, and we can’t wait to see people there.”

InfoComm 2019 is almost here, and AIMS is ready! As our first appearance at InfoComm, this year’s show is the AIMS introduction to the pro AV community. Key messages: AV over IP is REAL. It has the gamut of features that pro AV professionals need, and it’s based on a set of standards (SMPTE ST 2110) that has already been widely adopted by the broadcast community.
Here are the AIMS highlights of InfoComm 2019:
- AIMS members have built two demos of AV-over-IP interoperability using real-world technology solutions based on the SMPTE ST 2110 standards suite. Stop by Booth 375 and we’ll show you that the future of AV over IP is here, using equipment you can buy today!
- We’ll have available a brand-new positioning paper, “AV Over IP: It’s Real, and It’s Transformational.” The paper takes a closer look at the impact of the media-over-IP movement on the pro AV and installed systems markets.
- In the AIMS Theatre in Booth 375, AIMS members will deliver three days of educational presentations on the subject of adopting open standards for AV over IP. Check out the schedule at https://aimsalliance.org/theater-presentations-infocomm-2019/. Also, AIMS members will participate in the session “Audio and Video Streaming Using Established IP Standards” on Tuesday, June 11.
