Overview of IPMX

Andreas will give an overview of the “standard” ingredients of the newly proposed AIMS roadmap on the IPMX framework for ProAV. “IPMX” (IP Media Experience) is an extension to the AIMS roadmap on broadcast IP solutions. This set of standards and specifications is fully based on fundamental ingredients such as AES67, SMPTE ST 2110, and NMOS, but extends into additional functionality required for the ProAV market. IPMX goes beyond the fundamental broadcast requirements by adding CBR compression for video (ST 2110-22), management and control functionality (GPIO, device control, connection management), content protection schemes (HDCP), and system security requirements (authentication and encryption). This presentation provides an overview of existing and proposed standards and how they all fit together.
